Meet the Board: Monica Owens

Updated: Mar 1, 2022

Monica Owens, an experienced leader, is the community outreach coordinator at The Diamond Galleria in Evansville. Monica can be described as tenacious, gregarious, and compassionate.

She is originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and attended school at Marian University.

As the newest member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana, Monica is excited to ignite the power and promise of our youth.

She read a quote from Benjamin Disraeli which says: “The greatest good you can do for another is not just share your own riches but to reveal to him his own.”

This quote made her want to put his words into action and embrace and help carry forward the mission of the organization. Children are important because they are vital to the present and the future, Monica says.

Growing up, Monica wanted to be a writer or a librarian. Her favorite kids’ movie was The

Wizard of Oz. Her dream job was to be a travel blogger. Today, she enjoys eating Thai food,

reading, swimming, and spending time with her family.

Please welcome Monica to the board!

Our Board of Directors are some of the largest advocates and supporters of our organization. We are grateful for an engaged Board of Directors who are committed to our vision for all children to achieve success in life.
