Big Brothers Big Sisters is proud to highlight our newest Board Member, Chellsie Parker, whose gift for storytelling and heart for kids shine through everything she does.

Chellsie currently serves as the Communications Manager for Atlas World Group, a role she has held for almost three years. Her work centers on managing the company's corporate communications and public relations. Born in Kokomo, Indiana, Chellsie attended Purdue University in West Lafayette, majoring in Film and Television. Before joining Atlas, she spent more than a decade as a TV anchor and reporter at stations in Indiana, Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Gainesville, Florida, with her final stop right here in Evansville as a reporter and anchor for 14 News from 2018 to 2021. Her storytelling experience and deep community connections fuel the perspective she brings to the BBBS Board.

Outside of work, Chellsie channels her creativity into her own photography business. She also loves camping with her husband and kids, practicing hot yoga, and doing any kind of craft with her children. Her favorite childhood movie is Toy Story, and she recently enjoyed a sweet, nostalgic movie night at home watching the newest one with her kids. She describes herself as compassionate, creative, and empathetic, traits that guide both her professional and personal life.

Chellsie's love of telling stories started early. At 10 years old, she went on the radio to represent the Girl Scouts, and she knew then that she had a passion for storytelling, one that would eventually lead her to the anchor desk. One of her favorite quotes, from Dolly Parton, “Find out who you are and do it on purpose,” reflects how she has followed that passion throughout her life.

When asked why kids are important, Chellsie shared that “they are our future and every child deserves to feel loved and have a space to be who they are and who they want to be one day.” BBBS had been one of the only nonprofits she had thought about getting involved with for a while, so when she was approached about joining the board, she was thankful for the opportunity. She is excited to help share the good work BBBS is doing with more people in the community.

Chellsie's connection to the BBBS mission is a personal one ...

“I am excited to support a non-profit like BBBS because of the personal impact it has had on my family. I know firsthand how important the mentorship is as I saw the impact it had on my younger brother who was a Little. His Big was a huge part of our lives and became a part of our family.”
