Meet the Board: Jeff Purdue

Updated: Apr 28, 2022

Jeff Purdue, VP of Business Development with Bowen Engineering, works all over the United States on energy, industrial, water, and wastewater projects. Jeff can be described as driven, encouraging, and enjoys challenges. He grew up in Washington, Indiana, and graduated high school from Washington

Catholic High School. He graduated from Purdue University with a BS in Civil Engineering. While at Purdue, he played baseball for the Boilermakers.

“I was blessed to have incredible mentors and role models growing up that have had an incredible impact on my life and I would like to honor them by sharing what I learned from them to help others, especially young children,” says Jeff. “I’ve been blessed to be a Big Brother the past year to Xavier and I want to help more Bigs and Littles connect in our community.”

He recently loved watching his Little Xavier catch a basketball that went out of bounds at the Purdue – Rutgers basketball game. For those who are considering being a Big, Jeff says “just do it.”

“The impact you could have on a child is life-changing - for both the child and yourself,” he says. “It is not a big-time commitment and you don’t need to plan elaborate get togethers. Time is the most valuable gift you can give these children.”

Growing up, Jeff wanted to play catcher for the St. Louis Cardinals and he lives out that dream at the St. Louis Cardinals Fantasy Camp. He is married to his wife Julie and has four children Emily, John, Elizabeth, Jake, and a son-in-law Kyle. His favorite kids’ movie is Toy Story and his favorite movie is “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Please welcome Jeff to the board!

Our Board of Directors are some of the largest advocates and supporters of our organization. We are grateful for an engaged Board of Directors who are committed to our vision for all children to achieve success in life.
