January Match of the Month

Three years ago, Juli Collins learned about Big Brothers Big Sisters from a friend during their morning walks. Juli was a recently retired educator and missed spending time with kids, and once she learned about the program, she was all in.

Juli was matched with Little Sister Lilianna who loves animals and is artistic and creative. Together they’ve created Fairy Gardens at a nursery to decorating Easter eggs, and creating unique Halloween treats. They’ve also gone bowling, ziplining, Sky Zone, miniature golf, laser tag, to the zoo, and many more activities that Big Brothers Big Sisters organizes. Juli has seen Lilianna mature into an amazing young woman who is comfortable talking with adults and planning potential careers involving animals.

“Her mother has helped make me feel almost a part of their family,” says Juli.

“She has posted heartwarming expressions of gratitude about the impact I have had on her daughter's life on social media. I value my relationship with her as well as with Lilly!”

Juli says for those interested in becoming a Big to be honest about what you like to do and hope to accomplish with your Little and you will be matched with the right person!
