Meet the Board: Sherri Bell

Sherri Bell, an experienced leader, manages Continuous Improvement at Centerpoint Energy in Evansville. Sherri can be described as steady, competitive, and honest. Bell is originally from Muncie, Indiana and moved to Evansville in 2000 to work for the newly formed Vectren. While working, Sherri attended Indiana Wesleyan University.

“It is never too late to start, and it truly does not matter how long it takes, as long as you keep progressing,” says Bell.

As the newest member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana, Sherri is extremely excited to support mentorship in her local community. Sherri says, “we have to invest in kids — they are the future.”

When relaxing at home, Sherri enjoys reading and watching films. Her novels include Measure What Matters by John Doerr and The Chain by Adrian Mckinty. While her all-time favorite film is Rudy, Sherri also enjoys the Disney classics such as Little Mermaid, Lion King, and Toy Story.

Growing up, Sherri has fond memories of playing cards and games with her grandparents. This is a tradition she has passed down to her own family.

Her favorite quote by Maya Angelou is, “do the best you can do until you know better. Then, when you know better, do better.”

Our Board of Directors are some of the largest advocates and supporters of our organization. We are grateful for an engaged Board of Directors who are committed to our vision for all children to achieve success in life.
