Meet our Board! JoElle Knight has been an event designer and project manager for more than
15 years assisting various area nonprofits with creating fundraising and awareness events,
driving media relations and spearheading engagement campaigns. During that time, she and
her husband have also invested in real estate and utilized her design skills to renovate and revive houses. She stepped away from a career with nonprofits more than two years ago to focus on property investment and become a licensed realtor helping friends and family find and sell their homes.
JoElle was born and raised in Evansville and is a proud alumni of Reitz High School. She
graduated from the University of Southern Indiana where she received her Bachelor of Science
in Advertising and Public Relations. “I feel the most crucial way of making the world better is by supporting a child and giving them a foundation of love so they can grow up into a healthy adult,” says JoElle.
As a new member of the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana board, JoElle can be
described as resilient, creative, and positive. She loves celebrating big and small moments for
her children. She loves creating fun birthdays for them.
“Kids are important because they are the future,” she says. “Their innocence causes them to be
vulnerable to both negative and positive influences making healthy development crucial to the
wellbeing of our communities.”
Her favorite quote is: “Hardships often prepare ordinary people for an extraordinary destiny”
by C.S. Lewis.
Growing up JoElle wanted to be an artist and create beautiful things. Today, she still loves
creating.Fun facts about JoElle include: Her favorite movies are Gladiator, Lord of the Rings, the newest Jane Austen’s Emma, and Home Alone. She loves brunch and relaxing with a good book. The last books she read were Elon Musk by Walter Isaacson and The Red Rising Series by Pierce Brown.
