Big Sister Allyse wanted to get involved with the Big Brothers Big Sisters program because she enjoys working with kids and wanted a fulfilling volunteer experience. She and Little Sister Octivia were matched in November 2019, and hit it off during their very first outing to get ice cream! Octivia says that her favorite things about her match are getting to try lots of new things and getting help with her math. She says that Big Sister Allyse is really good at explaining things!
They like to stay busy and Big Sister Allyse keeps it creative and fun! When they couldn't see each other, they used technology to play Hangman on Skype and did a virtual tour of Allyse's house. Since each person in the match feels comfortable meeting in person again, they've gone rock climbing at Vertical Escape Rock Climbing Center, had an outdoor water balloon fight, and made brunch together.
