Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana is committed to keeping our Bigs, Littles, families, employees, and supporters healthy and safe. We are currently taking steps to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19).
As participants in our program, we want you to be the first to know of our procedures, plans, and general tips for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
Program functions, including Volunteer Interviews, Youth/Parent Interviews, and Mentor Trainings, will take place via video, web conference, or phone through April 13 (at minimum). New Match Introductions will be rescheduled for dates in April. We will send separate communication to provide instructions.
All Match Activities will be canceled through April 13 (at minimum). As of today, BBBS strongly recommends that all Bigs and Littles avoid in-person match outings through April 13 (at minimum) and instead focus on building a friendship through email, phone, text, FaceTime, Skype, etc. Please contact your Match Support Specialist. We will continue thoroughly cleaning all BBBS facilities according to CDC recommendations.
We have begun considering contingency plans for our Bowl For Kids’ Sake events in April, but have postponed the event until further notice. We will make separate announcements to inform you about this event as changes are made. Because of this postponement of our largest fundraiser of the year, supporting our nonprofit is now more important than ever. To give any amount and make an investment in a child’s future, donate here.
Through April 5, 2020 agency staff will work remotely. For this reason, we feel it is important to remind you of important contact information in the event you need to reach staff during this challenging time. Click here for our team, feel free to call, text or email staff with any questions, concerns or support.
