BIG SPOTLIGHT: Holly


Meet Big Sister Holly! Big Sister Holly Bittner and her Little Sister Nevaeh have been matched since October 2021. Holly works for Lieberman Technologies and enjoys volunteering for many organizations in her free time. In addition to being a Big, Holly volunteers at Golf for Kids’ Sake every year.


Holly became a Big because she wanted to help a child in our community through one-to-one mentoring. Holly and her Little, Nevaeh, have been matched since October 2021. Since they have been matched,

Holly enjoys taking Nevaeh to places in the community that make up what Evansville is all about. For example, they go to Wesselman Woods, Willard Library, the Evansville Otters, and the Evansville Thunderbolts. One of their favorite things to do together is going to Barnes & Noble to play Uno.


For Holly, being a Big has taught her that being authentic is all you need to be for a child. She said, “There is no need to try to put on the cape & become the big Superhero when a child is just looking for a friend.” Holly believes that Nevaeh has become more confident since they were first matched. She said that Nevaeh has started to step outside of her comfort zone and try new things. Overall, Holly believes that she brings, laughter, joy, silliness, faith, and confidence to Nevaeh and the match. One of Nevaeh’s favorite things about Holly is her energy and positivity.


To those considering becoming a Big, Holly quotes Maya Angelou. Maya Angelou said, “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Holly believes that by becoming a Big, people can help children feel valued and loved.
