Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana bids a fond farewell to our incredible Executive Director, Andrew Backes, whose visionary leadership has empowered countless young lives. Thank you, Andrew, for your unwavering dedication and inspiring impact. Best wishes on your next chapter!
From Andrew Backes - Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana and the youth in our community are extremely blessed. We have a dedicated Board of Directors and staff who serve passionately to ensure all youth achieve their full potential. Our donors and volunteers give selflessly to see that our mission is achieved and believe that every child is worthy of our time and energy. The joy of seeing youth find their spark and enthusiasm to learn and grow at match introductions and the success stories of hurdles overcome and doors opened through mentorship has been more rewarding than any financial compensation. It’s been my distinct pleasure and honor to serve as Executive Director for the past three years but the time has come for me to pass that honor on to someone new.
The future is bright for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwestern Indiana. Due to community support and the efforts of our talented staff and board, we have seen and felt the momentum grow rapidly over the past few years. We have established new partnerships with school corporations and fellow youth serving nonprofits to find creative ways to ensure youth are able to receive mentoring where they are at. Our resources have grown, which has allowed us to hire and retain an elite staff of servant leaders. We have fuel for future growth and the sky's the limit for this organization.
I am forever indebted to our Board of Directors for giving me this opportunity to lead and serve alongside them. They are the foundation for which this organization is built and why I am so confident it will continue to grow and serve our community. I am truly overwhelmed with gratitude!
